Egberes are a part of Eledumare’s creation that set itself apart from humanity many eons ago. They are usually no taller than 3 feet and fiercely anti-human. They consider humans to be more favored by Eledumare. They feel humans have been gifted with good height and stature but are ungrateful for their gifts from Eledumare.

Their love for gold is because humans want it. Egberes don’t have any use of gold in their communities, but they can find and mine it faster than any human can. They guard their gold and keep it from humans as a punishment, or just one more reason to attack these “ungrateful beings”
