Adviser and Royal Groomer for the potential Kings of Oyo like his Fathers, Ba’a Fakunle is an old ifa priest with experience and knowledge spanning much of the secrets of Ifa, herbs, magic and spells from all of the Oyo Empire and beyond. He was adviser to the Alaafin before being chosen to go to Nupe and guide the young stubborn prince. Ba’a Faknle is Sango’s teacher and guardian.

Many believe he is over 100 years old but he never clarifies this.

He knows several spells and is often badgered by the young prince to teach him more and more spells. From time to time, he teaches him a spell or two, even though he knows that Sango is often sneaking off to badger traveling priests and magicians who are traveling through Nupeland
